Project Objectives
The Company needed Environmental Management System (EMS) support while their EMS Program Manager was on leave. They were in the process of launching an EMS to meet their business growth goals and objectives and wanted to ensure its continued implementation
The Company also needed to respond to an increasing number of customer inquiries regarding compliance with the EU RoHS and WEEE Directives. Although they were in the process of identifying the RoHS and WEEE Directive requirements and how they potentially impacted their customers, a response strategy needed to be developed.
What EORM Delivered
EORM provided professional onsite environmental management system (EMS) shared services support while the EMS Program Manager was on leave. The result--their EMS program progressed forward and was fully implemented.
In regard to RoHS and WEEE Directives compliance, EORM consultants worked with a cross-functional team which represented the impacted departments to identify applicable requirements, map out a strategy to address customer requests and ensure compliance, and leverage existing business processes to reduce impact to the bottom line.
The recommended strategic plan was adopted and implemented. Today, EORM continues to provide strategic Environmental, Health and Safety management consulting in support of Product Stewardship initiatives as the client manages through product compliance and take-back program implementation, responding to partner and customer requirements, and working with trade associations to influence favorable changes to the EU Directives.
