About Mindspeed
Headquartered in Newport Beach, CA, Mindspeed Technologies, Inc. designs,
develops and sells semiconductor networking solutions for communications
applications such as VoIP and broadband optical transmission in enterprise,
access, metropolitan and wide area networks.
Mindspeed's products are used in a wide variety of network infrastructure
equipment including voice and media gateways, high-speed routers, switches,
access multiplexers, cross-connect systems, add-drop multiplexers and digital
loop carrier equipment.
Project Objectives
Mindspeed Technologies wanted to align their Environmental Management System (EMS) with the requirements of ISO 14001 by October 1, 2004. Although they had not committed to a date for official certification, they wanted to have a fully implemented EMS deployed to ensure a short ramp-up when the decision for certification was made.
What EORM Delivered
Through its management consulting services, EORM led Mindspeed’s core ISO 14001 team through the process of developing and implementing an effective EMS. We worked closely with the Company’s EHS representative to establish monthly objectives and adjust the level of effort needed to meet project goals within their budget. Based on our experience providing this service for other customers, we established a list of Action Items (Plan, Act, Do) and Milestones that helped the team meet internal deadlines and accomplish the planned objective.
EORM continues to coach the Company on environmental compliance.
