Environmental, Health, and Safety Management System (EHS-MS) Implementation
About the Company
With global headquarters in CA, the Company designs, manufactures, and sells memory products for computers and peripherals, MP3 players, digital cameras and cell phones. It serves an international network of distributors, resellers, retailers and OEM customers on six continents and employs nearly 3,000 people worldwide. In addition, the Company provides contract manufacturing and supply chain management services for semiconductor manufacturers and system OEMs.
Project Objectives
The Company needed support in developing and deploying an EHS-MS across both their primary business and a subsidiary. In order to determine their baseline regulatory compliance status with regard to applicable local, state, and federal EHS requirements, it was also recommended that the Company consider an Environmental Compliance assessment.
What EORM Delivered
EORM provided support in specific areas related to the implementation of the Company’s EHS-MS. Tasks included a hands-on minor chemical spill response training; code compliance support for main hazardous waste accumulation areas (site visit and issue discussion with the appropriate employees); first responder operations training for an emergency response team; a list of the legal EHS requirements that apply to the company’s operations; and an EHS compliance and prioritization of issues (POI) assessment. EORM also supported the implementation of the Company’s EHS initiatives on an as-needed basis.
