Sustainability Reporting Trends
Are You Being Transparent
About Your Environmental and
Social Performance?

Non-financial sustainability reporting is increasing every year. Almost half of S&P 500 companies have a non-financial report. Global environmental and labor issues, as well as stakeholder demands, are requiring companies to externally report on environmental and social performance. Being transparent about your sustainability efforts has many benefits such as:

  • Demonstrating a commitment to operating responsibly
  • Enhancing reputation
  • Building trust with stakeholders such as shareholders, customers, employees, NGOs, communities, and governments
  • Realizing efficiencies from performance measurement

In a recent webinar, EORM Sustainability Consultant Diane Firu and Philip Trowbridge, Managing Director of Sustainability Solutions Group, LLC, updated participants on sustainability reporting standards now in practice such as: Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), ISO26000, International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (IPIECA), Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), GHG Protocol and 3rd Parties such as Climate Registry and Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

They described the major drivers and trends for reporting, outlined the process for developing a reporting strategy, and then led attendees through the report generation process, from data gathering and data aggregation to report format and assurance.

If you missed this important and informative session, you can still request the presentation slides and resources here on the EORM web site.
