EORM Priority Press – February 2008
EORM's Priority Press newsletter provides up-to-date information about environmental, health, and safety (EHS), industry trends, and upcoming events.
A Message from Glenn Fishler, EORM President and CEO
Happy New Year! In our first Priority Press issue of 2008, it’s a good time to reflect on our achievements in 2007, and let you know about the exciting developments in store for 2008.
2007 offered us great opportunities to expand and improve the scope of our services in the United States and around the world. As always, we owe so much of our success to you, our valued customers and friends. EORM’s consultants worked with over 150 new clients in 2007, in addition to providing continued service to our long term customers. Our East Coast operations expanded into the “Pharma Corridor” in the Mid-Atlantic region, where we’re excited about continuing our work in the life sciences and pharmaceutical industries.
The fast-emerging solar technology industry has given us a chance to apply our consultants’ extensive knowledge of semiconductor operations to manufacturing processes in this new market. We’re excited to support sustainable energy development as we continue to hone our skills to meet the EHS demands of these new industries.
Also, in response to the increasing demand from our clients and increasing public concerns about environmental issues, we have expanded our sustainability services this year. Greenhouse gas (GHG) emission and “carbon footprint” reduction are terms that we are all hearing more and more in the news. EORM’s environmental consultants, along with our sustainability partners Entrix and Wallace Partners, are prepared to take the mystery out of these new terms and provide our clients with practical solutions and strategies to effectively reduce their environmental impact.
Please don’t hesitate to contact a local EORM office to see how we can help you achieve your EHS goals this year, and thank you again for your continued support and partnership.
Here’s to a terrific 2008!
Glenn Fishler

OSHA Posting Requirement Reminder for February
Federal law requires employers who are not exempt from the OSHA recordkeeping requirements to post their OSHA 300A form in a common area which can be viewed by their employees. The form must be posted on February 1st and remain posted until April 30th. In the past, the OSHA 300A needed to be posted only during the month of February.
The OSHA 300A is a summary of the information from an employer's Log of Work-Related Injuries (OSHA Form 300). The OSHA 300 Log is used to track injuries and illnesses in the workplace and track the number of days away from work. The Summary (Form 300A) shows the totals for the year in each category.
If you are not sure if you are exempt from the OSHA record-keeping requirements or you need an OSHA Form, you can find further information on the OSHA web site at www.osha.gov/recordkeeping/pub3169text.html.
Contact a local EORM office or call 800.648.1506 if we can answer any questions about this requirement.
